Our Fellows

Asher Kozma

2017 Fellow

Asher Kozma is studying a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University. Previously, he was the federal and Victorian state director of Betar Australia, a Zionist youth movement which runs educational activities for children and teenagers. Asher's interests include political philosophy and economics, and through the Susan Wakil Fellowship, he hopes to produce a project which will have a tangible, positive impact on society.

Daniel Malkinson

2017 Fellow

Daniel Malkinson is currently studying a Bachelor of Science Advanced Global Challenges at Monash University. Daniel is interested in environmental sustainability, science and entrepreneurship. During the Fellowship Daniel wants to explore how science can impact the political landscape to inspire change and innovation in society.

Elias Visontay

2017 Fellow

Elias Visontay studies a Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of User Interaction Design at the University of Sydney. Elias is interested in the media & journalism, behavioural economics, public transport, and their intersection in public policy. During the Fellowship Elias hopes to explore how projects on student journalism and mental health can be used to engage with and create a sense of community amongst students, and generate discussion on hidden issues affecting this demographic.

Genevieve Radnan

2017 Fellow

Genevieve Radnan is a Registered Nurse and the CEO and Founder of the Australian charity, Gennarosity Abroad based in Kenya, East Africa. Genevieve is currently studying International Aid and Development and Sustainable Development part time online at Murdoch University. Genevieve is interested in international development, sustainability, health, education, poverty alleviation, human rights, social justice, project management, volunteering and fundraising. During the Fellowship Genevieve hopes to explore several aspects including; how political change can impact social change on an international level, how to attract the public's interest in taking social action and how to form public and private partnerships.

llana Cherny

2017 Fellow

llana Cherny studies a Bachelor of Science (Climate and Weather) and a Diploma of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Ilana is interested in climate change, sustainability and currently volunteers as a State Coordinator at the Australian Youth Climate Coalition. llana looks forward to developing her project management and campaigning skills during the fellowship, focusing on corporate social responsibility and multiculturalism

Leeor Chabat

2017 Fellow

Leeor Chabat, in all his ambition, is conscientiously working towards a better world through his social and commercial entrepreneurial pursuits. As a Susan Wakil Fellow and Monash University student Leeor is excited to be at the forefront of betterment, both within the university and as a citizen of the wider Australian community. Leeor has a specific interest in fields of education, mental health and social enterprise and endeavours to use the skills learnt in the fellowship to address and solve his concerns in such capacities.

Olivia Morris

2017 Fellow

Olivia Morris studies a Bachelor of Law and Economics at the University of Sydney. Liv is passionate about gender issues, social justice, both domestic and international politics, and the zeitgeist. During the fellowship, one of her goals is to find a way to counter a pervasive media climate of misinformation and a diminished political discourse.

Raphael Tell

2017 Fellow

Raphael Tell studies a double degree in Arts and Laws at Monash University, majoring in International Relations and Politics. Complimenting his studies, Raphael is involved in student unionism, working as Academic Affairs Officer within the Monash Student Association. The Fellowship's raison d'être aligns with his belief in civic duty, and Raphael hopes to make the lessons learned in the programme transferable to the broader student community.

Ross Lamzov

2017 Fellow

Ross Lamzov is a 3rd-year Biomedical Science student. In his spare time, Ross teaches children to swim, organises the In One Voice street festival, hosts the Mates At 8 radio show and is a 3rd-year leader at the youth movement SKIF. Ross is passionate about the Jewish community and seeks to be an active member in the future.

Sara Kaltman

2017 Fellow

Sara Kaltman is currently in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Monash University and is Working as a staffer for the Honourable Marsha Thomson MP for Footscray. Sara is also an active volunteer in the community, volunteering as a mentor for Stand Up and the National Council of Jewish Women of Australia (NCJWA). Additionally, Sara is presently completing her internship at the Jewish Holocaust Centre in the archives department, where she is focusing on analysing the anguished and humiliating memories associated with survivor's traumatic experiences in the ghettos and concentration camps. Sara previously held positions in AUJS, holding roles such as the Victorian Religious Officer, and the Deakin AUJS Vice President in 2014, and as the Monash Caulfield Legal Advisor in 2016. Furthermore, Sara has been an active participant in many community organisations such as Bnei Akiva, Friendship circle, Camp Sababa and Chabad Youth. Sara is passionate about social justice, gender equality and has a keen interest in family and criminal law.

Sarah schamschula

2017 Fellow

Sarah schamschula is in her fourth year of her Bachelor's Degree studying Science with a major in Environment and Laws at Macquarie University. Sarah is interested in indigenous youth social justice issues and environmental sustainability. During the fellowship, Sarah hopes to combine her knowledge of environmental science, law and business to design a project that will help businesses and individuals reduce their environmental footprint.

Tobi Rosengarten

2017 Fellow

Tobi Rosengarten studies Arts and Law at Monash University. Tobi is interested in human rights, gender equality and stigmas surrounding mental health. During the Fellowship Tobi hopes to investigate the influence of different parts of society on gender equality, and how we can better hold the media and business accountable for their role in promoting a community that fosters the development of women.
